Terrain that blends multiple "types" of terrain
« on: October 01, 2015, 03:44:05 PM »
Hi,

Is it possible using world machine to build a terrain that nicely blends between terrain types. For example, a macro-terrain that includes multiple areas like Alpine mountains, Arizona desert, dry coastal (palm trees) that are transitioned nicely? The example images I've seen seem to show just one type of terrain.

Thanks!

Yes, you can mix between different types of terrains. The reason you see so many single terrain type renders is because it's hard to mix more types of terrains with a slower home pc. Computing power and artist's experience are strong factors here. You will find many example scenes that mix between different types in the examples folder.
