Next geoglyph update is in the works, though I'm not sure when it will be released.

Good to know. I really like Geoglyph, as it makes World Machine even more valuable.
I'd love to see a good working support of the last Beta.

Unfortunately it seems that the Geoglyph team isn't very responsive any longer.
They say it works with the 3.x betas as well, but I had several issues. Sent an email some months ago, but got no response so far.

Seems they are occupied with Tor, as World Machine development continues very slowly.

@Vision4Next: You can try these for geoglyph. They are a bit dated though. Something is still better than nothing imo.

Thanks, I've seen them. I really wish that Geoglyph would work with 3016. So far it only works with 2.x without problems.
Nevertheless it's really a great addition to a great program.

I use the latest 3016 with Geoglyph, but unfortunately this does not work. If WM3 gets a final release, then hopefully Geoglyph will be updated as well.
I don't think Tor will be an option soon and all other solutions have their drawbacks as well.

Thanks for the link, but every now and then a new tool arrives and most of them disappear again soon. That's really annoying.
I really wish there was more stability in that sector.

I have similar issues. There are some problems with 3015/3016. There are things missing.
It works well with 2.x Pro.

Hopefully Geoglyph will get another update, as Tor is still in beta and no alternative so far.

Depends on what you want. Maybe it's better to make it in meter and then scale the mesh by 1,000.

This looks very nice indeed. Good work!

If a mountain is eroded the water and debris flows down the hill. The flow map is an alpha map, which simply represents the strength and amount of the flow. You normally use it as mask or for coloring the terrain in certain colors. The deposit map is an alpha map as well and shows the amount of the deposition of eroded material on the landscape. It can be used in a similar way as the flow map.

I really recommend to watch some of the tutorials at GeekAtPlay Studio. You'll find them at Youtube and they show quite nicely, how you can use the maps/masks in a program like Vue to distribute certain materials over the landscape.

Thanks for the information. Just got a license and I'm really a bit overwhelmed about the feature rich content. So many possibilities.
I have to play around to see what can be done. Geoglyph looks like a program of its own  :D

Geoglyph 2 at it's current state is compatible with all versions up till 3011, and version 3015. 3014 doesn't have a PDK I think.

I have 3016 Pro now and wonder if Geoglyph 2 was updated to this version as well. I will need a lot of terrains for a personal project in Fall 2017 and wonder about the future of Geoglyph 2, as now Tor starts to come up and I don't want to invest into another dead software.

My primary application is Cinema 4D with Vray and the heightfield worked quite well together with splatter maps for materials and plants and color maps as well. Nevertheless Geoglyph 2 seems to be able to do much more and in a smoother and easier way.

As far as I remember, you need a bitmap node connected, which provides a greyscale image.
