I have to agree, 2.3 is really sweet, especially since you fixed the bugs I reported so quickly. It's great to have a developer who really supports their product., back to World Crack...I mean World Machine! :D

2.3 is absolutely amazing!

I love all the new devices and especially the example world files. The examples offer great starting points to both newbies and more experienced users alike.
I really like the additional window option, too bad it only allows itself to be launched if you have 2 monitors. I turned on a secondary monitor just so I could enable it on my single screen.

The splat device is godlike, replaces a ton of extra useless boilerplate nodes in my workflow.

Thank you for your continued hard work!

The final version of WM 2.3 is now available. You can download it from the upgrade site, links splattered all over the website :)

As promised, the PDK has been revised for the final release as well; note that I incremented the interface number from the release candidates so you will need to use the most recent PDK to build for 2.3.

RC 3 is now available.

This will be the final release candidate, and will turn into the final package shortly.

Lots of important bug fixes, including some crash issues with OpenGL previews. increased resolution limits, major tile improvements (non-square tiles now actually work properly, selective tile export now drops-in perfectly with non-selective tile exports, etc).

In addition, the RC3 PDK is available as well. The PDK will be kept in lockstep with public releases from this point on, I promise :)

Release Candidate 2 is now available!

This fixes a number of important bugs, including:

Sessions do not reload appropriately
Sporadic crash on startup
Selecting alternate devices not updating views sometimes
Z-fighting and clipping issues in 3d view
disconnecting a wire falsifies when it shouldn't.
file metadata in BT format not being carried through appropriately

It also adds a number of small final improvements, including a new button to the File Input device to let you create a new extent that matches the file extents.

Most likely this will move from RC to final very shortly as I update the website to reflect its status!

Hi folks,

The release candidate for 2.3 is up on the Beta site at

I will add additional details here about what is fixed, etc, but there is a long laundry list of bugs, as well as some new features, new examples/presets, and a new device, the Height Chooser. The Height Chooser works very much like a regular chooser but you can set it to take any number of inputs; it will fade between each input based upon a guidemap, making it great for mixing terrain types, etc.
