Hello , I would like to know if is possible or not and if it is how ... To erode a 2d map that is the heightmap of a planet ... HI would like to kno how to erode that in a way that its seamlessly connected so that erosion on right side continues on left side ant top with the surrounding areas taking into account the spread of the curvature?

Hello ...

I am trying to use World machine to carve and erode a nice continent , I would like to be able to produce nice flows out of the mountains, make the mountains possibly look natural and ready for a future further erosion in other tools to simulate the rivers .
The continent is part of a larger map that I will compose later, baically I erode one region at time... I have loaded so a mask to hide all surrounding land as input .

so basically my confic is double input , one for mask and the other for the file heightmap to erode , then they both are linked to an erosion filter, and then I bring out to outputs ...

My issue is that when I use some particular erosion models they erode beyond the sea level causing sea drops and lakes despite I used a mask to preserve the coastlines, is there a way to avoid make the erosion go under the sea level? and is it possible to have  a better resolution preview in the window 3d ? I have put all to max but I can't guess what will be like the erosion unless I start it .

My other question is I tried to output a 16 k x 16 k image I have 32 gb ram but even if it doesn't reach the limit andf it stays with memory save under 19 gb  the operation after a while gets stuck ( or so seems ) forever and I am forced to quit .

Finally for rivers and large rivers, is there a best way to erode to make WM produce by itself nice river flows? Or it just creates erosion flows frokm the mountains?

Any tutorial on that ?

Is it possible to use custom textures for texturing the terrain = like for example opening coastal overlay it has some perlin noise generators , is possible to replace those and insert textures to be used?

I dunno if this is possible in worldmachine but eventually could be a nice feature if it could be possible to create offtruding parts in some areas ... is that possible? I mean like something that cannot be depicted on a heightmap couse it would cover it but that could be setup in the worldmachine ?

Hi is possible to design may be with a line tool in layout a flow erosion ? so to simulate a river flow , ( may be with tunes to set size , erosion type , % of inclination or randomness inclination ... etc) that carves the terrain from the top to the sea?

General Discussion / tiled outputs dont get bitmaps?

I have made tiled output and seems to work totally different than if I build the world straight , I tought that I woudl get the same results but it is not is this normal? apart that when I need to write down the output bitmap it doesnt save it even if partecipate to the building process in tiles , why?

Also why the overlay view doesn't updates when tiled is built?

I dunnoif I am missing something but my maps coming out of wm are always steppy look , even if I set up 16 bit maps It saves like an 8 bit one... what I am doing wrong?

Hi I have taken the macro of the coastal overlay and I added a new feature to add vegetation trees over it but how do I do to save? Also I changed the parameters sliders but everytime I reopen it doesn't save the naming of the further slider ...

Feature Requests / edge distance from water height

I am creating an 8192 island for using into cryengine ...

Ok after many settings I managed to get something like this , I have decided to split  my 8192 island into 4 tiles to be rendered and created separately with the same settings , I think syoudl be tiling ok after remounting the maps into a bigger 8192 from individual 4096 ....

What you think?

it would be nice to have another feature like distance from sea or distance from water setting in the worldmachine this would allow I guess a better placement of vegetation etc...
