Hi Guys !

I do not expect anyone to write a book about his life, but at least something... even few words like "Hi guys, there is a delay, but we are working on it", or whatever, just to show people here that he care... honestly... last post on the blog is from April and it says that we should be expecting next patch within a month or so... since April... anyway, I am not demanding a patch but at least a word from him saying "I am working on it guys, hold on tight"... And again... if he need some sort of support or if he is short of funds, say something please... there are people here who rely on this software a lot and I am sure that they will appreciate a lot if he could share his toads with us... Cheers.

Yeah !

Is Stephen alive ?? not heard from him since April :>
no news on his blog either... I was expecting 2.2 Release Late May - Early June... it is end of July now and it is only silence... Do you guys need some help maybe ? I would really be disappointed if this project stops in evolution as it have great potential... If anyone from dev team is still alive, please keep us, users informed and let us know what is going on, as we are getting worried now ;)

It has nothing to do with Vista 64 (well maybe not directly) I am running Vista 64 on my PC and have no problems at all !
Its the ATI card... I am sorry to say that but compatibility wise ATI cards are much behind NVIDIA... It has always been like this...
Just Get yourself 8800GT or better and you will be a happy man again ;)

Another thing that I would love to see in further WM release is a bit of optimization.
Some devices only use 1 CPU core and it take ages for them to generate, where the process could be speeded up by utilizing all available processing power.
Bellow I have listed Single-Threaded devices which generation I have noticed to be particularly slow (I will update that list as I come across some more):

Layout Generator

Hi !

I have been creating a world, not very complex so far, but the more complex it have been becoming the more frequently it has been crashing...
I have got to a stage where I have been saving file every change made... up to now...
The program crashed and every time I try to open my file it loads and then crashes... I have tried both, 32 and 64 bit executables.
Last time it crashed when I tried to put another combiner into scene.
It is possible to open it only by using open from inside program. double clicking on project file or opening it from recent files list crashes program.
Also when I try to add more components program crashes.
My Spec:

Windows Vista 64 SP1
AMD Phenom 9850 (4 x 2.5GHz)
Nvidia GeForce 8800GT (512 MB DDR) SLI
WM ver. 2.15

Just a quick update.
I think it is the Basic Coverage Macro which is causing the problem.

I have downgraded to version 2.10 and it seems to be working fine, so the problem only occurs in version 2.15.
In version 2.15 you can not have/put in scene 2 Basic Coverage Macros because the application crashes straight after you place the second one in scene.

It just came across me.
It would be useful and time saving feature for many game developers.
Currently, the moment you click "Build" you are able to create maps using output components automatically.
One step forward, would be to be able to choose different resolution (or tick use global) for each output component separately.
When you are generating for games, the height map is usually smallest, then lightmap and texture is the biggest.
I know I can export all at maximum resolution required and the downscale it manually but it would save a lot of time on testing stage, where you export your maps frequently...

I agree on that.

Layout generator definitively have to be worked on as it has got great potential of becoming very powerful tool.

It would be nice to see some support for roads.

It also absolutely have to be multi-threaded ! Sometime it take ages to generate and it is only using 1 CPU core !!
