A Color Scheme manager

It a litte heavy to set the the right color in many different steps of erosions and other manipulation.
What do you think about a Color Scheme Manager.

It is like the layer Manager in Photoshop.
One bitmaps device with many input access.
This inputs I can connect with other device outputs like erosion wear map.
Every Input is a layer, what can I set witch calculation I want (like in combine device, Add Sub ect.)
Every Input layer can be colored.
I think this is a easier way to color the terrain.
