Mouse pan?
« on: January 09, 2012, 10:27:07 PM »
Hey there,

Just downloaded world machine for the first time today and I must say I am impressed! I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a standard copy tomorrow.

One thing I haven't been able to figure out though is if there's a way to pan the 3D view with the mouse. Middle click doesn't do anything nor does any combination of left and right click along with Shift, Alt and Ctrl which are typically the standard ways of panning a camera in most 3D packages. Is it possible to pan with the mouse? The arrow keys aren't too easily accessible... WSAD would be preferred.

Thanks!

This is very old, but still relevant. Is there any way to pan the camera?

It would make it so much easier to view the terrain in the 3D view. Right now there are some angles that you just can't view the terrain at.

Yes usual panning like in most 3d app would be great to have since even with the arrow keys you cannot get at certain angles.

What we are doing here is exporting the build as a quick heightmap in 3ds max to have a better view and perspective but it is an additional step in the pipeline.
