To vie/edit the settings on a device you have to click on it twice . A window open and then you have to close the window. that is 3 mouse click.

What if this window where to be open inside the Left side bar....
Then you only have to click it once to edit and view it......instead of 3 mouse click

Scenario
In the Device navigation list
First you click once on the Advance Perlin and the windows show the device setting
Then you click once on Height output and it show the new device settings
That is 2 click instead of 5....

Or even better at the bottom of the screen
like UDK Material editor

The build button would act as a confirm/save? button

In UDK the green "tick" is the save button

Hi there,

Something like this is definitely under active consideration... I would like for the device edit windows to be nonmodal/dockable, so that you could edit multiple device properties simultaneously.

Yes yes to non-modal device windows. Perhaps with the option to add them to a dock which can be scrolled up and down

i.e. you have a dockbar that devices can be dragged into and removed from at will, they stack, collapse, etc a bit like Mudbox perhaps.

Any update in this feature?
Changing the Device properties window to nonmodal window, will it require a significant amount of work?
For the user it will be a significant help , in the creation process,  just to do 10 click instead of 30 clicks to open 10 Devices
