Here is a WIP of an arid landscape I’m working on, all generated and textured within World Machine 2.3beta3. It will be part of a package of 6 arid landscape pieces to be available for use in Unity3D.
A side note: Though I know it’s all a 2D heightfield, texturing terraces is 90% impossible due to the planar projection. Revenant: any chance of having a means to texture normals perpendicular to the projection?
Noobish idea: you can place a set of 6 or 8 at the lowest value to “light” your terrain from all around and then recombine all the outputs in one single selection for a color generator.
Nice work, i am trying to do something exactly like this for the Australian outback for a job right now, but just cannot get it right. Any chance of sharing how you did this?
