Bigger realtime preview or always visible 3d view

I’ve been trying out world machine and it’s very nice but why is the preview so small and why can you not have the 3d view and the device view open at the same time?
The one annoying thing is switching back and forwards between fractal settings in the device and then the 3d view to see the effect of the changes.

It would be nice to at least be able to resize it. I was looking for a way but couldn’t find it.

I hear you. Having a split view work space is on my implement list.

Until then, a couple possibilities:

  1. You can switch to the 3D view, and then select / pull up the devices’ properties from the leftside view. This gives you a much bigger view to see whats happening with

  2. The pro version supports launching additional windows that you can put the 3D view (or any view in)

Wait what? i mustve missed it, how do i launch additional windows from the pro version? Having the 3D view on at the same time as the layout is something i’ve wanted for so long can’t believe i missed it? (or is that the 2nd monitor thingy? i only have 1 monitor but it’s large so i’d like 2 windows on the same screen side by side)

Found the “open additional window” menu in between, but it seems to be doing nothing for me? :frowning:

Assuming WM 2.3, you should be able to open additional windows with that button – by default WM will open the window on your second monitor if you have one, but in any case the window should show up in the taskbar.

Then just select the view you want in it and you should be good to go!

It’s actually doing nothing on either of my computers (single screen & remote desktop to single screen respectively), i click it & nothing happens at all :frowning:

I’ll take a look and see if there’s anything that assumes a second monitor.

Oops – looks like I made the assumption that you’d only want to do this with a second monitor; it filters out your primary display when looking for where to open a window.

2.3.3 will be released in the next few days and will fix this!

Great :slight_smile: I definately want 2 on a single monitor, especially with the docking in recent windows i’m always working with 2 windows open ( 1 on each side) on 27" monitor!
