terraces in normal map

Hey, i’m new to WM. I’m creating a normal map from a height map with an erosion device. I’m getting terraces in the resulting normal map. What is causing that and how can I correct it? Thanks.

Where is the terrain from (before erosion)? Is it a procedural terrain or is it from an imported file? Usually you’ll see such things as artifacts from your input – the best bet is usually to apply a bit of gaussian blur using the blur device between the file input and the erosion.
