Interesting.. I can duplicate this on mac-only. There’s nothing wrong with the example file itself, so there must be something wrong with the previewer/device selector.
Investigating along with a variety of other mac-specific quality of life improvements
macOS trackpad improvement please
(if possible, i really do not know does WM understand difference between trackpad and mouse input or no)
current trackpad movements are not comfortable:
- currently 2 fingers is not comfortable to use for movement in graph view - you need to press 2 fingers or press 1 finger and Control key to move - but movement could be implemented by using finger-pan - it is much more comfortable
- currently scrolling is linked together with zooming - if you use 2 fingers, you do zooming and scrolling at the same time - but trackpad have separate 2-fingers movement for zooming, which WM do not use for some reason
same request for Viewport - Viewport do not use dedicated on trackpad movement for zooming for actual zooming
under those movements i mean those:
apple trackpad is miracle, - even in 3D apps it nearly as comfortable to use as dedicated usb mouse - so it would be cool for WM to use full potential of trackpad movements
Funny you mention that, I was literally just working on adding the pinch-to-zoom support for the viewports!
Tracked down the pillar example issue. It was indeed a view device selection issue, to not go into the exhaustive detail ![]()
The course of fixing that though did discover a real latent bug on macos builds that could cause a crash in the VDM displacement device, so perhaps that bugchase wasn’t completely silly.
