Did you know that you can associate the .DEV file type with World Machine, and thereafter WM will automatically move said files to the macro folder when opened?
This is especially useful with the new macro library, as you can download and install new macros just by clicking the Download button in the library.
Here’s how:
**Windows Vista/7:
Right click on a macro file (.dev). Choose “Open With”. Select World Machine from the list. If its not there, click the “Browse…” button and find it under Program Files\World Machine 2XXX.
Make sure “Always use the selected program” is checked, and hit OK.
**Win XP:
Right click on a macro file (.dev). Select Properties.
On the “Opens With:” line, select “Change”.
Select World Machine from the list, or if its not there, select Browse and find it under Program Files\World Machine 2XXX
Hit OK

From now on, opening a macro file that is outside of your macro library folder will copy it to your library folder, and WM will report that it has installed the macro!
