Crash on launch

Hi, I have been trying to get my WM basic to launch but it crashes before even a splash screen is shown.
i have tried installing, reinstalling, compatability mode, deleting the registry.
however when I look for the files in AppData i dont see a World machine basic folder there is nothing, could this be causing the error.

my system is pretty decent:

  • 2.8Ghz i5
  • 4gb ram ( i know the recomended is 8gb)
  • 1gb radeon 5650
  • 64bit windows

any advice with this would be appreciated

Deleting the registry? You mean using a registry cleanup software when uninstalling WM?

nono i went into the registry (using regedit) and found the software entry for world machine and deleted it.

Graphics card drivers needed updating.
Feel a bit stupid bit thats how I fixed it haha

Glad to hear that you got it fixed.

I will say personally that it never ceases to amaze me how often a problem can be traced to buggy graphics drivers – as a user it sounds like a longshot, but as a developer I see it occur again and again!
