Crater impact debris

Does any know how you would create a effect similar to the large craters in the image below, where you have streaks of Debris that have been blasted out and fallen back stretching radially from the crater

Hi there,

this is an interesting question; I couldn’t resist giving modelling these types of impact streaks a go.

I’ve attached a picture of the result, and the world file, below.

The key to getting the radial streaks is to use the Angle output of the Angle Selector. It provides the radial output we need to create the spokes of debris.

The rest of it is just creating and tuning a decent looking world.

Check out the example and see if it makes sense!

Wow WTG what a kickass file dude…
I was thinking that the white dust could be made of a texture instead of height…? and it would only be visual from far distance (orbit), not show up on close up (ground level)?

The world I posted added actual height increases as well as coloring, but it’s easy enough to make it just be a coloration rather than a height modification as well.

Awesome!
Very nice 8)
With a little bit a tweaking it’s there.
Thanks Remnant for the inspiration and taking the time to create these scenes.
