export to 3d spftware

Hi, Im new here (sorry for my bad english) and this is my first problem; Ihave the basic free version and I dont know how I can utilisize one of the outpout format for a 3d software like Cinema 4d or Maya. I tried with BMP but it doesnt work!
In witch format have I to export it (It is possible to export the 3d model?) and in witch channel have I to put it in a 3d software bump, normal, displacemtent.

There are some threads on how to import stuff to 3dsmax and maya:

If you want an actual model of the terrain WM creates, you’ll have to use it as displacement (displacement map). Bump maps and normals maps are only affecting lighting of the surface. (It then looks like it had structure while it actually has none)
For blender, there is a tool called ter2blend. It converts a .ter file into a .blend file containing the terrain I believe. If all else fails, you could use that tool to load the terrain in blender, and then use blender to export that terrain to various other object formats blender supports.

WM2 (coming in July) will support mesh export
