A behaviour that seems strange to me is that if I set the range from -2000 m to 50 m the actual measurements are -2000 m to -1950 m. Bug?

That sure does sound like strange behavior. I’ve just confirmed this, and it is indeed a bug when the world minimum is < 0m. I will fix this for the next release!
