Full Detail Snapshot does nothing

I want to create a higher resolution version of the teeny preview window in 2D. I thought the Full Detail Snapshot feature might help, however when I click that button, nothing happens.

Hi there,

is your world build? The full detail snapshot button in the 3D view can reveal details larger than the realtime 3D view limit, but it can only do this if your world is built and contains high-resolution output.
