It’s been a bit since I posted a project here! In my spare time, I sometimes write music as a hobby, and a couple years ago, I made a song that I am, to this day, still pretty proud of. This week, I decided to start the process of making it available on Spotify, but the platform I was using to distribute it required cover art for the release. This prompted me to make a proper name for the track, and then do a render based off of that name, which gave me a chance to play around with the new VDM tools. The render was done in Terragen, but the terrain and the hoodoo itself was built entirely in World Machine, hope you all like!
I think if I were to spend more time on it (the entire project from concept to final render took about 3 hours) I would make the hoodoo itself a bit more weathered and less sharp/jagged, but for the purposes, I think it reads correctly, and a lot of the small scale jagged noise won’t be super visible at the sizes Spotify and the like shows (no idea why the distributor requires 3k x 3k images, that seems excessive).
