How can I make golf course sandtraps?

I’m looking to generate a variety of bowl-shaped sandtrap areas like these. I was thinking of inverting and subtracting voronoi noise, but the bowls are too close together. Can anyone think of a way to create these on an existing landscape?

All good - I ended up Instance Scattering radial gradients, displacing them and subtracting them from the landscape.

You may get an even better result if you use the (Smooth) Min operation in the Combiner device, as it can create for sharper cuts into the terrain. You will therefore first need to increase the height of the terrain with the scattered radial grads, and then connect that result to the Combiner[(Smooth) Min].
