Im the author of Jolt3D! engine (http://jolt-3d.sf.net) and i need to understand TMD file specs as well loading permissions.
Is TMD a closed format or i can use it for loading (only) purposes & if yes, where i can find some specs?
If this is difficult or restricted somehow, i will understand. (its no necessary to ‘learn’ tdm file, only a way to translate heightfield
into my engine, so a static lib is even better if available)

Hi there,
The TMD format is not a useful one for 3rd party support; It contains only the instructions for creating the terrain, not the terrain itself, and so it can’t be interpreted/used in a useful way. You’ll need to export to a heightfield format which can be loaded in the usual manner.

i see that the only solution for 3rd apps using tmd is to export them into other ones like .ter which is not necessarily bad
