I don’t know if this one will be really useful, but it may be fun to play with.
Tell me what you think
I don’t know about anyone else, but I think this one is really cool! Looks like it could be good for dunes, sawtooth ridges, and several other effects, just as far as “realism”. And a whole lot more for surreal and abstract landscapes. Great work.
Here’s my first image using a terrain from it. It was the last device in the network aside from 2 erosions. Before it are a series of chooser-blended perlins.

Very good!.. I didn’t understand it quite well at first, I needed to take a look inside the macro… It really looks promissing for ice-eroded mountain ranges, like I recently saw on this photo (mountains on the bottom right quarter of the image).
Curiously, I didn’t expect the distortion would work that well for that effect…
Nice work.
It’s nice if you like it
I’ve done my latest pic with this macro.
I’ve positioned the camera parallely to the lines made by the macro :
A fluvial erosion filter allowed me to create a flow map, that I used to brighten the surface map. As the camera is parallel to the lines, it creates the illusion of some rays…
