hi, this is a test of how i can push as much detail as i can inside world machine, using least number of devices possible and a single erosion node.
this is the 2k version… working on removing spikes in 8k
further polished!!!
This guy looks pretty sweet. LOD is rather impressive, and it also doesn’t have the strange snowy ridges I’ve seen on many other snowy WM mountains. Really liking it.
thanks!!! the ridges in other’s mountains were the main reason why i started experimenting with this concept…
Keep the updates coming, I’ll definitely be interested in seeing more!
Thank you very much! Though I’m a complete stranger to World Machine, I just enjoy the work is produces in skilled hands and am looking forward to having it replace the hand-sculpted terrain I’ve got in my game’s prototype, which I’ve pretty much taken as far as I could in terms of quality. So hopefully I can get somewhere with WM ultimately.
That being said, when I import your terrain, I seem to get a default green green texture, not the snow etc. I’m probably doing something wrong. Care to enlighten?
the texture is done with basic coverage macro, which i believe is a part of wm package… did you select the overlay node before checking the 3d preview???
I actually didn’t, complete WM noob, still fumbling around in the dark with it on my spare time. I’ll get around to it and will be able to properly view your work.
