Tiled World

Hello,

i didn’t find any solution for my problem yet, so i ask here:

if i want build a 5x5 Tiled seamless world, how do i edit each tile alone?

For example: i want in the “north” lots of mountains, in the “south” only low hills, in the middle a sea that goes over 2 tiles?

i hope, my question is clear enough  (sorry for my bad english)

Hi there,

the best method is to use layouts to control where an effect is created.
Go into the Layout View (F6) and click “Create Layout”. Doing this will create a layout generator and place it into your world, and automatically select it for editing. Make sure the buttons labeled “RQ” and “Tiles” are selected on the left – this will show you the render quadrant and also display the location of your individual tiles within it as guides.

Now simply draw a shape (box, polygon, etc) within the tile area you want to limit something to. You’ll see the mask created by this shape, and you can change the falloff, etc by double clicking the shape.

You can use the layout generator to directly level out areas, place lakes, etc, or you can use it to guide effects, such as having terracing only in certain parts. A little experimentation will show you the way.

Hope this helps!
