What is the Wiki and how to Contribute

This is the Community Wiki. Any community member of good standing is allowed to create and edit posts here!

The intention is to be a user-created space for best practices and knowledge. You can think of this as the distilled guidelines from the community forums - instead of working through dozens of posts, you can see what the current best-practice is for something at a glance.

Guidelines:

  • All content should be contained in the first post on a topic.

  • Good topics include:

    • How to achieve a specific terrain, look, or effect within World Machine.
    • Common gotchas or important principles
    • How to use WM with other popular software
    • Best practices and advice for authoring macros or plugins
  • Posting incomplete content is OK, but try to make even the first revision useful!

  • Categorization:
For now, all wiki article will live in the same top-level category. If needed this will be adjusted and articles moved to useful sub-categories.

  • TBD I’m not sure if replying to a wiki article should be allowed or not - we will determine as we go.

  • Vandalism, spam, or other mal-social edits will result in an automatic ban.
