Curve with thin peaks, but large distances between peaks

I’m attempting to use a placement curve to place gaps in ridges:

(above is a gradient node with a cnoidal placement curve passed into it)

And then, I pass it into a Subtract node with a separate gradient node and cnoidal curve:

However, this isn’t quite what I want, because the gaps are too wide.

Is there a way of creating a curve that looks like below?

to configure gradient, you could use its inputs for curves

curves will allow you to configure shape
also, gradient may be not only solution in such creation of gradient
usually WM have couple of ways to do same stuff, for example - scattering devices also may allow to achieve this (maybe), but here may be also more solutions

The easiest way to adjust this would be, for the gradient’s output that you are subtracting from your ridges, use a Curves device to flatten more of the areas that are not the highest region. Move the default middle keypoint down and to the right. This will effectively narrow the peaks while keeping whatever distance between peaks that you have set.

To get an even stronger effect, use a Select Height device instead! Just select the peaks, timsy wimsy bit of fall-off, and you will now have high, shallow ridges, next to each other. The best part is that this technique guarantees the individual ridges will never touch (as long as you do not distort the Gradient device too much).
