Different textures for each terrain type?

Hello!

Is it possible to use the Basic Splatmap macro (or another one) to texture each type of terrain i have in my project, and then, combine it and export as a single (and later tiled) splatmap with sand, grass, dirt, rock and snow textures for each terrain type?

For short,i want each layout generator to have its own sand, grass, dirt, rock and snow textures and be able to export it with all textures set up correctly.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I’m using Layout Generators to place several terrain types in my world, and i want each terrain type to have different textures, and then,i want to combine all of these textures and export as a single splatmap that have several different textures for each terrain type.

It’s certainly possible, and people on this forum have done it before, but it would be a very complex network. Instead of separate splatmaps for each layout, get the individual weightmaps out, as many as you want. They are tileable too. A splatmap holds upto 4 channels of data, so a single splatmap is not gonna cut it for such diverse terrain features. Could you elaborate on the project you’re building?

It consists of various terrain types or biomes, and i’m wondering if i can have each biome to have its own textures, and then, export it as a splatmap to use in another software.
Also,is it better to export one splatmap for each terrain type?If so,how do i do that?Would the Basic Splatmap macro and a Bitmap Output do the job?

Yes basic splatmap macro and bitmap output would do the job.

Got a demo mission showing this at all?

I am also trying to do this also. The Combiner screws up all the colours.
