Icosahedral Map

Hi! Is it possible to generate icosahedral map managed with WM tiles, is that new tile technology capable of doing so? Icosahedral map unwrap looks like this: , and so I wanted to create seamless spherical world using this.

I agree that having this would be nice. I fear that it might take some reworking to get it functional, have to wait and see what the boss man says.

it may be possible to implement this, but i don’t think it will work for a seamless spherical map. the reason, sawtooth mapping doesn’t work this way. and if you are thinking that you may warp it a bit to get it working… you will lose the whole point “seamless”.
