Making an ocean floor

hey. i want to make an ocean floor.

thats the premise. i just dont know how. ive been playing around with dunes and macros but i just cant seem to find how to make a convincing sea floor. does anyone have an idea of how i might do this?

I mean, this really depends on what type of ocean floor you want, but most of the ocean floors are, as bedrock, a kind of obsidian like surface. On top of that, you have sand and debris. My approach would then to make a somewhat rough surface with little differences in elevation (for example, take two advanced perlins and use one to drive the distortion of the other), and then use the snow device to create a sand/debris layer on top of that. Does this make sense? And if this is not yielding the result you’d like, what is your reference?

Off the top of my head, I’m thinking rough rocky spires and a smooth sandy bottom with ripples.
There are lots of ways to generate that; as @HYLK mentions the snow device is actually pretty useful as a general ‘soft sediment accumulation’ device, you could simply connect it to a basic perlin. If you distortion a gradient to add some ripples, it starts looking credible:
