Having a hard time building a TMD to make mesas and buttes. So far all I have managed to make are towers and spikes. Any suggestions would be apresiated.
You could try downloading my Island Gen Macro: http://forum.world-machine.com/viewtopic.php?t=105, add a Perlin to the input and a “Clamp” to the output and set it to clip. Then use displace to move it around the landscape and/or a combiner to mix it with another backgound node.

Been thinking about setting this up so I could change parameters, but don’t know how I would contarct the author.
But I haven’t found anything that works better then what I’ve made, and Like I said it dosen’t give me what I want. So far my best results have been to start the terrain in TF2 then polish it up with world machine.
Hi
that link (http://terrafgen.free.fr/Macros.htm) is to Rhalph’s page on macros.
In there you’ll find two macros made when a simillar question appeared in the yahoo group some time ago. These make “table mountains”.
I don’t know if this is what you are looking for… Me and Rhalph made them. (their between the “Single house maker” and the “trees”)
I had this written in one of the posts at yahoo about these macros:
The two macros are very similar, in therms of content, but one is made with a chooser device, and the other with a tranform device.. The one with the chooser allows a more rough ground in the lower heights, but it introduces some artifacts if the fuzziness slider is set to a low value.. On the other hand the transform applies a smoothing filter, that actually smoothes the low heights.. It may end up a bit too smooth, but it is an alternative.
I hope this helped,
Hay, there’s my macro site, or atleast were I get my macros. Didn’t realise the hieght lighted words in the paragraph were macros too. Well there’s a couple more to add to my library. I’ll check these out and see how they do.
Wish I had been studying french in my highschool french class insted of the teacher; ou la la.
I have a few macros that I have made myself, but they are just little helpful nothings; like my noise macro. I’m thinking about up loading my “clifs and slopes”. But I still can’t get the illusion of scale out of it.
