MicroDem - > WM ? or microdem -> 3dem -> WM?

Hi all

At the moment I have a large data set in .asc format (see ascii DEMs http://www.geographx.co.nz/downloads.html for some free examples)

I can open this happily in Microdem (free software), but Im not sure how to get it into WM. None of the outputs from microdem seem to be usable in WM (or in 3dem for that matter)
I can happily go from 3dem -> WM so a microdem -> 3dem -> WM solution is acceptable if someone knows how.

Any one know of a way to do this?

our company ended up investing in “global mapper” its the ultimate tool for using DEM data between files formats etc.
