Hi, do any of you World Machine gurus out there know how to get sharp ridges from an existing terrain? I’ve got some terrain of some mountain ridges, but they’re quiet blunt. How would I make the ridges sharper without completely altering the rest of the terrain?

If the ridges are at roughly similar heights, you can use a height selector to guide a steepening transformation only on the ridges. I’ve attached an example showing this.
If they’re not at similar heights, you’ll have to use a different selector to pick out your ridges – depending on your input terrain this could be somewhat complex.
Is this anything like what you were looking for?
Combine2( Blur3(SelectConvexity), Combine1( Blur1(SelectConvexity), Blur2(Select Convexity) ) )
Something like this might work, if this makes any sense. 
It should recreate the shape more or less so you can pull some of the features out in a way.
Hi guys, just returning to this post to give some ideas for anyone who was trying this- basically I’m using Nikita’s Sharpen macro to do it, but I think the local heights macro along with bias gain and or sharpen would also get you there.

That’s the first thing I tried Stephen…and I was looking high and low for the curves device…was that included in this beta?
The problem is selecting the heights because it’s a fairly large, complex terrain, so I tried using the local heights macro and the convexity selector which I think is a little better. At the moment I’ve settled on the Sharpen macro which is what I was originally going to try in Photoshop.
I’m trying to shape real world terrain, so that it’s a more flexible approach. With this you could glaciate older, lower mountains, without excessively altering their height.
