First post, new user of WM, howdy. I’ve reviewed the prior posts here discussing various aspects of using WM with Vue, as well as Vue’s forum. There was a lot of wishes for WM development that now seem fulfilled wiith the current version of WM. 16 bit TGA/Tiff output, 64 bit memory handling, the time seemed right to fiddle a bit and see what came about. Initial stuff:

The image started as a 10m DEM converted to terr. file loaded into WM, using erosion, output to 8192X TGA, loaded into Vue as a bitmap into the terrain editor, converted to Vue “procedural” terrain, manipulated in the function editor as a “terrain fractal” and using the “strata” filter. The resulting mesh was about 3.2 mil polys.
I bought WM as a utility to provide terrain content for Vue, so far WM has far exceeded my expectations, however the issues of extracting the maximum terrain detail that Vue can manage is the challenge. Dax Pandhi’s excellent tuorial uses a Vue TGA output to tweak in WM then back to Vue as a 4096 TGA as a “standard” terrain. It’s my hope that there’s a way to use the procedural qualities of both programs in conjunction. Anyone have a successful workflow?
If you go to the linked image, the “next” button should cycle thru several other WM/Vue examples. Let me know what you think, thanks!
