Hello there,
I am new to World Machine and have been experimenting with various terrain generation techniques for a personal project. While I have found the basic tools and tutorials immensely helpful; I am now aiming to create more complex and realistic terrains; and I am facing a few challenges ;that I hope some of you experienced users could help me with.
I am interested in generating a diverse range of terrains within a single project; such as combining mountainous regions; rivers; and plains seamlessly. I have tried using masks and different layers; but the transitions of;ten look unnatural. Could; anyone share their techniques; or best practices for achieving smooth transitions between; different terrain types?
I am looking for advice on optimizing large terrains. My current project involves creating a detailed map for a game environment; and performance has become a significant issue. Are there any specific optimization techniques; or workflow adjustments that can help reduce computation; time and improve performance without sacrificing too much detail?
Also, I have gone through this post: https://forum.world-machine.com/t/how-to-limit-where-generators-generate/5796ccsp which definitely helped me out a lot
I would love to hear about any advanced tips and tricks that you think a beginner might not be aware of but are crucial for creating high-quality terrains. Whether it is lesser known fe;atures in World Machine or external resources and plugins that could enhance my workflow.
Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.
